Monitors are wrapped in bubble wrap and stood upright in crates, never stacked flat and never loose in a box. A screen travels well when it is held on all sides and kept off the floor of the truck. We use plastic crates for the rest of the desk contents too, so they can be wheeled onto the truck and wheeled straight out again.
Cables go into bags labelled for the desk they came from, with the plug ends kept together. Open the bag at the new desk and everything for that workstation is in it. Desks, cabinets and other heavy items are wrapped in blankets and loaded in order, so nothing heavy ever rides on top of something fragile. The furniture arrives with its edges intact, and the equipment arrives in the crates it left in, ready to be rolled to the right corner of the room.

People can find their place without a map and start plugging in as soon as they walk through the door.
